One of the current campaigns from Greater Manchester Waste Disposal Authority is encouraging those of us who can, to think about more home composting. Home composting is using your kitchen waste and garden waste to make your own nutrient rich compost that you can use to help feed your flowers, plants and vegetables.

The Let’s Compost Now website page on the Recycle for Greater Manchester website provides basic information, hints, and tips for successfully starting home composting.

In addition they are working with ‘Get Composting’ to offer residents compost bins products at a reduced price. Residents can buy either a Bokashi bin, 220 litre or 330 litre compost bins for 10% less than the standard price and will receive further saving through free postage and packaging. The discounted bin offer is accessed directly from the Get Composting website and residents will have their purchase delivered within 2 weeks.
