Residents will obviously be aware of the unscheduled road closure on Heywood Road and the traffic lights on Bury Old Road as a result of a ‘sinkhole’ at that junction. Our latest information is that United Utilities will send a team out to repair a leaking water main at Bury Old Road/Heywood Road junction today (27 August 2021), and hopefully take responsibility as the void is as a result of damage from a leaking water main.
