Prestwich Roadworks and M60 Resurfacing Phase 2

by timpickstone on 4 March, 2020

Details of the more serious roadworks for March below. For the full list see the GM Roadworks site here

The second phase of resurfacing the M60 near to Prestwich starts on 9 March 2020. The surfacing work is planned to take place on both sides of the carriageway and will include replacement of road markings between junctions 15 and 18.

Work is due to start on or shortly after 9 March for approximately four weeks. This will take place Monday to Saturday, between the hours of 9pm and 5am (extended to 7am during the weekend), subject to traffic flows.

For safety purposes, full overnight closures are required on the M60 between junctions 15 and 18. This will take place in various phases during the dates and times stated above, and only one side of the carriageway will be closed at a time. Associated slip road closures will also be required, and localised signed diversion routes will be in place.

Highways England say: “Whilst we always aim to work to our schedule, unforeseen circumstances such as severe weather conditions may mean slight changes occur at short notice. Every effort will be made to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum.  However, these works will inevitably generate some noise and disruption and we’d like to apologise in advance for any disturbance.”
