Council
Bury Council’s Customer Contact Team (the 253 5353 number) is CLOSED between Christmas and New Year (no we’re not sure if that is a sensible idea either…)

The emergency contact number for the Council is 0161 253 6606.

Refuse collections are planned as normal between Tuesday 27 – Friday 30 December 2011 (none of us have collections on a Monday). If anyone has any urgent queries that need to be addressed between Christmas and New Year regarding bins etc please email one of us and we will do our best to get in touch with the right people.

Our nearest recycling centre, which is now on Lumns Lane in Salford, is open 8am-6pm every day except Christmas Day and New Years Day.

Health
Prestwich Walk in Centre on Fairfax Road is open EVERY DAY 8.00am – 8.00pm (last appointments given 7.30pm). For more serious emergencies A&E at North Manchester hospital will be open 24/7.

Travel
Please note there are no Metrolink services on Christmas Day. On some other days the service finishes earlier than normal. More details here.
