Planing Applications Update Holyrood Ward June 2019

by timpickstone on 17 June, 2019

Just to let residents know about recent planning applications in our area . Please just let us know if you have any queries.

Two quote significant applications – one for change of use of the row of terraces on Bury Old Road which used to be part of the ‘Transformation’ business – with an application for these to be made back into housing.

Secondly the application from a homelessness organisation to use offices in the site of the former Congregational church on Bailey Street. A lot of residents have been in touch and many have submitted objections, including a large petition. Your local councillors* are meeting with residents to consider people’s concerns and what can or needs to be done. (* this does not include Councillor Tegolo who is a member of the Planning Committee and therefore cannot be involved in discussions about individual cases).

  1. Angela Read says:

    Hello,

I am a resident of Bailey Street and have only just heard of the proposal for the congregational church for a ‘homeless/ex offenders/drug users’ drop in centre. I have serious concerns for this type of place among our residential area and particularly beside a childrens play area and am also outraged that this appears to have been kept very quiet. I am led to believe that there is to be a vote on this tomorrow at the town hall, Bury.

May I implore you to act on our behalf and vote against this proposal. I work close to a similar place in Bury and have to say that it attracts many unsavoury people.

    Many thanks
