Parklife, 11-12 September 2021, Information for Residents

by timpickstone on 27 August, 2021

Parklife is back in Heaton Park, later this year, on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 September 2021. A separate concert (New Order), will take place in the same place on the Friday night, 10 September 2021.

ACCESS TO HEATON PARK
The Papal field and its surrounding area will be fenced off for the event-build between 25th August and 24th September.

CLEANSING
A dedicated external cleansing team is in place; Ideal Cleansing. Their responsibility is litter clearance in the areas surrounding the park including the roads and pave- ments in the vicinity. There are dedicated jet washing teams in operation and 50 additional bins are located around the exterior of the park. CIT deployed over 100 toilets on the exterior of the event site, concentrating on key areas such as transport hubs and walking routes.
NB: In addition to litter picking during the day, road sweeping takes place over night on 10th, 11th & 12th September.

SECURITY AND POLICING
Greater Manchester Police is involved in the planning process for Parklife and will have an event specific deployment over the weekend. They will be working with PES security, part of the CIT, to help manage the local environment as attendees arrive and leave. There are over 100 CIT officers around the Park – all easily identifiable: please feel free to approach them with any concerns as they are happy to help.
NB: the security and policing for the New Order concert will be proportionate to the capacity of both of this event.

ROAD CLOSURES : 10th, 11th, 12th September
Road closures, and the relevant staff, are put in place between 20:00-21:00 and end no later than 01:00 each evening: during this time access for vehicles around the park will be limited – please use alternative routes.

PARKLIFE COMMUNITY FUND
In early 2019, over £45,000 was awarded by Manchester City Council and Bury Council to community groups around the Park to help projects taking place with young people and/or in green spaces.
