Coronavirus Update – Vaccinations and Mental Health Support

by timpickstone on 28 January, 2021

Around 23,000 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have been given across the four Bury community vaccination centres in Prestwich, Radcliffe, Bury Town Hall’s Elizabethan Suite and Ramsbottom.

The centres are focussing on offering the first dose of the vaccination, to people within the first four priority groups that have been set nationally, by mid-February. This includes people living and working in older people’s care homes; people aged 80+; health and care workers; people aged 70+ and clinically extremely vulnerable individuals.

Residents who are eligible for a vaccination will be contacted by their GP when it is their turn, and people are asked not to contact their GP practice about the vaccine before then.

CCG Chair and local GP Dr Jeffrey Schryer has published a blog reflecting on the work of the vaccination centres, and you can read this here: https://www.buryccg.nhs.uk/2021/01/15/bury-at- its-best-as-vaccinations-bring-new-hope-15th-jan-2021/
