Bury Council has published an up to date Coronavirus Update (correct on 1 October 2020).

With 367 new cases recorded in the seven days to 26 September, Bury’s infection rate has risen from 165.45 per 100,00 to 192.16 per 100,000 and remains one of the highest rates in the UK.

The four-week summary in Bury:
Week ending 26 September: infection rate 192.16 (367 new cases)
Week ending 19 September: infection rate 165.45 (316 new cases)
Week ending 12 September: infection rate 92.1 (175 new cases)
Week ending 5 September: infection rate 59.4 (113 new cases)

Whitefield Testing Centre to go Appointment Only
Note: the current walk-in facility at Whitefield Library will be open 10am- 3pm until 2 October and will then re-open as an appointment-only facility on Thurs October 8th.

Support payments for isolating individuals
A new scheme designed to support people asked to stay at home and isolate by NHS Test and Trace is currently being finalised. Aimed at those on low incomes, a £500 one-off payment will be made to people who cannot work from home and will lose income as a result. Bury’s scheme will be in operation in the next few days – anyone told to self-isolate on or after September 28 can make a backdated claim for payment.
