Proposed Changes to Bus 484 (Prestwich – Eccles)

by prestwichfocus on 13 July, 2016

Changes are proposed to Bus Service 484 (operated by Arriva Northwest) which provides an hourly daytime link from Prestwich, Agecroft, Pendleton and Swinton to Eccles and Salford Royal Hospital, with the peak time extension of some journeys to/from Whitefield.

As part of measures to improve punctuality on the route the route and timetable of Service 484 will be revised to omit Mossfield Road, the Wardley estate and Kersal Road Road/Oaklands Road in Kersal Moor.

Please do let me know if you have any comments or thoughts on this proposals. The implementation date would be 31st October 2016. (Higher resolution copy of this map here.)

I understand that the entire route of the 484 has been cancelled, not just amended.

There are so many people, I for one, who rely on this route to get to work and back and a fair number who rely on the service for Salford Royal Hospital and is their only bus service for everyday tasks such as getting to the shops.

The buses are full, and a driver also confirmed to me that for a tendered route such as the 484 to take over £130 in a morning during the school holiday is unheard of, yet this bus services regularly takes that on each morning journey.

if there are plans to change or amend the route then these need to be confirmed now so that we can plan on how to deal with the issue.
