Just a thank you for mentioning the exhibition of my local history objects and ephemera held at Prestwich Library on the weekend of 6th/7th February as part of the ‘Libraries Day’ events. Despite the dreadful weather conditions the turnout was fair, with an unexpected visit from an organisation which is recording the unknown stories and forgotten sites of the two World Wars and the Cold War in Lancashire. They then enter the details on their website (www.LancashireAtWar.co.uk). Expect a few details relating to Prestwich’s role in these events in the future.
As usual the exhibition brought to light new and interesting objects still to be found in the homes of Prestwich folk. Chasing down these casually mentioned references to objects and memories can lead to another story placed in to the collection, with an object, photo or document to support it.

Thanks again for your usual support.
