Greater Manchester’s Police and Crime Commissioner is currently consulting on a roughly 3.3% rise in the police element of the Council Tax for 2016-17.
This equates to £5 a year on a Band D property – a little less or more depending on your Council Tax banding, or about 10p a week, and is the equivalent of around 70 police officers.
The Police and Crime Commissioner is asking for our views by 27 January 2016, there is more detail and you can take part in the consultation here.
Bury Council has yet to agree its proposals for Council Tax next year.
