Information for residents on opening hours for local services, and helplines over the Christmas period.
Bury Council Customer Contact Team (253 5353)
All but essential services at Bury Council are closed over the Christmas and New Year period:
The Customer Contact Team will be closed from 5pm on Wednesday 23 December until 8.45am on Monday 4 January 2016.
Adult Care Connect and Direct one stop shop at Textile Hall will be closed from Thursday 24 December until 10am on Monday 4 January. You can make enquiries by telephone only on Tuesday 29, Wednesday 30 and Thursday 31 December between 9am and 5pm on 0161 253 5151 (except for blue badge enquiries).

Phone Freephone 0808 144 5368 if you are calling from a landline or 0161 686 8368 if you are phoning from a mobile – calls charged at your normal call rate.
Health
Prestwich Walk in Centre is open 8am-8pm as normal every day.
You can call 111 when you need medical help fast but it’s not a 999 emergency. NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.

Friday 1 January 2016: offices closed

If your benefit should be paid between Wednesday 23 and Monday 28 December you will now be paid on Wednesday 23 December 2015. And if your benefit should be paid on Thursday 31 December or Friday 1 January 2016 you will now be paid on 31 December 2015.
